Lehi Parade 6-25

I enjoy the parades.  I love to watch a parade.  I enjoy waving at the people who are on the floats. I like standing as the flag comes by. I like to see the excitement in the little kids eyes.  I like to clap for the bands.  Now that Rachael is in the Color Guard, I am enjoying the parades in a different way.  Richard and I ride to the parade on the motorcycle.  We watch the girls warm-up.  Then as the band starts marching, I follow them for a block or two takiing pictures.  When I see Richard again, we jump on the motorcycle and drive down a back street for a few blocks and then I follow the band agin for a couple of blocks taking pictures, until I find Richard again.  It is great fun, I only see the American Fork High School Marching Band, but that is the season in my life right now.  Someday, I will get to sit down and watch the whole parade again, but now I love what I do!

Practicing for a Parade

The Color Guard got a couple of weeks off of practice after school got out, so when they returned to practice they had a parade routine to get up to speed on quickly, since the first parade is at the end of June.  They have to learn the routine, and how to go around a corner, and how to march down the street.  Good thing there are great neighbors who live around the school and don't mind a parade coming by a couple of times a week as they practice.  It was fun to follow them around and watch people come out of their house and clap for the band.
