We have waited for this day for over a year. The 2012 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade is here. It was so exciting sitting in the stands, with the crowds all around us. Other people waiting to see their bands turn that corner from Orange Boulevard onto Colorado Avenue. The excitement just kept building as we waited for our band to come by. We were number 81 of 90 enteries in the parade, so we got to enjoy the whole parade before our band came. We kept looking at our parade program, keeping track of what entry was coming by us. And all of a sudden, we could hear music that we recognized, it was us, and we could just see the band turning the corner. That corner, the kids practiced that corner many times, they had it down to a science.
I can not even describe the feeling that I had as I watched these 47 girls march down the street. The pride I felt for the Color Guard, the band, the community, especially my own daughter. They just marched past me in one of the biggest parades in the United States, I cried the whole time they marched by me.
Cost of Marching Band - $800
Cost of Tour Fees - $889
Cost for us to be a part of the trip $1500
13 months of preparation
It was all PRICELESS - to watch Rachael and the American Fork Color Guard and Marching Band march in the 2012 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade!
